The inspiration for Slim came to designer Marianne van Ooij while lounging on her sofa. Looking around the living room, she noticed several piles of books on the floor, none of them higher than 10 books. She realized that, when reading a book she liked to keep them close by and in view. As the pile would get too high, she would start another one, keeping all books in sight.
At the same time, being a designer, Marianne was intrigued by the cover of a book. Some covers are made to be seen. She wanted to find an elegant way to keep favorite books in sight, while the colorful display of covers would create a changing work of art.
She took these thoughts and adapted them into shelving that can hold up to twelve books. Slim is wall-mounted and can be hung by itself, as a pair or in groupings, creating a wall of books. Slim is available in a standard 8 slot version, as well as in demi Slim, with 4 slots for books.. The rack is made of clear acrylic.
The rack ships easily and does not need to be assembled.
